Why Mission Matters
We believe that what we do with our time, our energy, and our resources reveals what we truly believe.
The gospel is not only something we affirm with our words—it is something we live with our lives.
In Jesus Christ, God has shown us his love for the world. Through his life, death, and resurrection, we have received grace, mercy, and new life. That grace is not meant to stop with us. It is meant to flow through us.
For this reason, mission is not an optional part of the Christian life. It is the natural response to the grace we have received.
As Methodists, we believe that faith is lived out in love. A growing relationship with God always leads outward—toward compassion for our neighbors, care for those in need, and participation in God’s work in the world.
Because of this, the way we spend our time and the way we use our financial resources are deeply spiritual decisions. They reflect what we value, what we believe, and what we believe God is calling us to do.
We seek to invest our lives and our resources in ways that reflect the heart of God:
Caring for the vulnerable
Supporting the work of the Church
Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ
and Participating in God’s mission locally and around the world
We do not see mission as something the church does from time to time. It is part of who we are. The same grace that saves us also sends us.
